为消除“菲律宾时间”这一观念，科学技术部（DOST）敦促所有菲律宾人自2014年1月1日起将计时设备与官方菲律宾标准时间（PhST）同步。
该举措符合《2013年菲律宾标准时间法》（共和国第10535号法案），该法案由贝尼尼奥·阿基诺三世总统于2013年5月15日签署。
除了为管理官方时间制定若干基本规则外，RA 10535 还将每年第一周定为“国家守时周”，并设定了充满乐观精神的主题：“胡安守时：我是菲律宾人，我准时！”
Globe Telecoms 和 Smart Communication 已表示愿意支持政府的反迟到运动，并声明他们也将从今天开始同步时间。
尽管我赞赏政府（以及私营部门）在这方面的努力，但归根结底，关键在于我们自身要珍惜时间并尊重他人的时间，否则迟到将导致他人时间的浪费。我认为RA10535法案不会在一夜之间改变现状，但它是一个良好的开端。

Do we really need to have a law for such a trivial thing? I think so in order to force other Filipinos to do the right thing and get in sync with the real world instead of having their own “mini timezones”.
By the way, hindi lang Philippines ang gumawa ng batas na related with time. Ang America nga merong Uniform Time Act of 1966.

Also, do users really need to change the Windows time synchronization settings when almost all consumer Windows OS syncs to time.windows.com automatically? Time is fairly accurate with this default setting.
