MRT-3 now runs up to 50 KPH

交通运输部（DOTr）宣布成功将地铁3号线的运营速度提高到每小时50公里。

按照新政策，从北大道车站到塔夫特大道车站的等待时间间隔将从每小时20列列车以30公里/小时速度行驶时的8至9.5分钟，缩短至每小时20列列车以50公里/小时速度行驶时的4至5分钟。此前，列车仅以30公里/小时的速度运行。这意味着从北大道车站到塔夫特大道车站的旅行时间将缩短10分钟，仅需1小时5分钟。此前，通勤者需要在1小时15分钟内从上述车站之间往返。

The management has been gradually increasing the train speed, as part of its goal to improve the MRT-3's speed. By December 2020, MRT-3 trains aim to run with a maximum speed of 60 kph.

To guarantee that trains are safe and secured for travel,  the MRT-3 management is doing regular system checks to test the new tracks' alignment, the Overhead Catenary System (OCS), and signaling and communications.
