Since I first bought the Compaq Presario V3000 over a year ago, I’ve been a fan of HP’s line of laptops. So, after selling off that old model, I went back and got an almost similar but lighter version — the Compaq Presario HP B1256TU.

My friend’s so stoked with his Nokia N95 that he claims it’s also a good video camera. So during our recent Holy Week vacation, we tried it out and made a sort of a travel vidcast. I have to say the video quality is actually good.
Been upgrading dozens of blogs in the last 24 hours to the latest WordPress 2.5 Final Release. Broke some of the custom hacks I previously done but all in all, it’s a worthwhile update. I just hope they’d find a way to do away with the chmod+777 folder permissions on the uploads as it’s causing people headaches with security issues and hack attempts.
After trying out the initial release of WordPress 2.5 RC1 on some smaller blogs, I was excited to try them here as well. The timing was good since WP RC2 just got out and I must say the newer features are very impressive.
One of my very first and favorite destination for torrents has been TorrentSpy. A couple days ago, the service has finally shut down after years of court battle.
First time I heard of the new web-based Adobe Photo Express, I couldn’t quite figure if it were really a photo gallery trying to compete with Flickr or just an trimmed down Photoshop version for the web. Looks like it’s both.
The Azerues Wiki compiles a lists of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) around the world that have been monitored to affect Bittorent traffic in their networks. In the Philippines, they one list one such candidate. Guess which one it is.
Been receiving a couple of emails lately (mostly from OFWs but there’s one from a Chinese/Taiwanese company) asking if there’s still some good business to be made with internet cafes in the Philippines. From accounts of friends and people who’ve been into the net cafe business as well as what we’re seeing in every mall and street alley, there’s some mixed reaction.

People are becoming more conscious about their online privacy nowadays. This concern is more prominent with public computer terminals like net cafes, offices and schools. Dozens of softwares out there are available to help you keep your privacy but this one is something that’s pretty amusing. Check it out after the jump.
Since the Brian Gorrell blog has emerged a couple weeks ago, I tried to steer away from it because of its libelous nature. Obviously, tens of thousands of people are visiting this Australian guy’s blog about his Filipino ex-lover and the $70,000 money the latter owed him that it has gotten him much attention from the press. This evening, we taped the panel discussion at ANC’s Media in Focus discussing the social and legal ramifications of this phenomenon.

Shelfari.com is a social media site that’s focused on books. Great place for bookworms. Anybody here actively using Shelfari? I’ve got several invites before but never got to really sign up. I also got an email from one of the founders when it was just starting but never really stayed long.
Anybody got some feedback on this and willing to get interviewed on TV?
You can now order a Chicken Joy meal over your mobile phone’s Smart WAP site. Was just informed last week that the new Jollibee Delivery service is available on the Smart 3G Portal.
Oftentimes, we look at things on many different ways and our reactions sometimes depend on who commits the act and not if the act is inherently malicious.
Not again. Had some visitors mentioned about it, I would have not noticed. Looks like Feedburner’s experiencing another bout of server problems. Their forums are closed and a quick search revealed several other bloggers are experiencing the same. Several of my blogs are getting the same ill treatment as well.
The very long wait is over. A brand new Pinoy Top Blogs has just been re-launched, with entirely new code-base and design. All previous accounts have been imported. All you need is to get the new tracking code. Check it out here!
Sometime November last year, Samsung announced the second generation of their Blackjack smartphone.
Got this new Canon dSLR from a good friend a week ago. This was their gift to me for doing their prenup shots I featured on my photoblog a month ago. I don’t know which model it is though. See pictures after the jump.
The most common response to my earlier discussion on “How to Compute Effective Page CPM” was how to increase the cost per mil (CPM). Let me clarify that with a simple math.
Before there were iPods, there were MP3 players. The very first one was launched this Month on CeBIT in 1998. The iPod on the other hand, is just barely 7 years old.
