Or something along those lines… I couldn’t remember the exact phrase mentioned to me by Dr. William Torres (more commonly known in the local IT industry as the Father of Philippine Internet) during the last eCommerce Forum when we huddled in a group discussing suggestions on infrastructure that could help promote internet commerce in the country.

PDAI was watching an old episode of Tekzilla and one of the viewer questions was about the PDA already in a state of becoming obsolete. The hosts argued that since smartphones are becoming more popular, they’ve slowly replaced the stand-alone PDAs.

Poll: What’s inside your rig, Intel or AMD?

Last month, I upgraded my old desktop PC. I have been a longtime AMD fan and for the last 5 years or so, have used almost all of their CPUs — Athlon, Sempron, AMD64+, and the X2. Even most of the dedicated servers I get runs AMD Opteron CPUs. They’re cheaper and does the job just fine.

It’s no contest that .com domains are the most popular ones today — over 71 million of them registered as of February 2008. We might also think that the .net domains will come in second. Well, according to EuropeRegistry, it looks like Germany’s country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) has surpassed the dotNet TLD to get the second place globally.

Alexa announces new Web Rankings

Alexa just announced they’ve changed to a new algorithm in computing the web rankings. Previously, Alexa only relies on its toolbar to gather site usage data to perform web rankings. They’ve added more sources now to improve the metrics but have not revealed what these are.
