There are also other types of ‘upgraded’ accounts, that are given out purely based on content, not on traffic

I think you should have a site with wide appeal in order to achieve that kind of eyeball. You should offer lots of contents that are updated regularly like the news sites or offer a service that a lot of people need like friendster.
You can also run 200 websites with 100,000 pageviews a month each.

It is a very challenging task as you’re aiming for roughly 6-700k pv’s a day.
We’re averaging around 4-600k a day.
I’m aiming for 1m a day.
