I want to, even though there is a super tough competetion for the prize money (I just want to do something). The deadline however, is on June 14. No time for that now.

Yup, the money is the motivation. I know how to do these things, but I am not an expert-professional… yet.

Fleeb, it’s not a competition. As long as you join and finish a single project, you are entitled to the prize. Fine print says that “each” student gets the $4,500.

The deadline is for the application only so you still have lots of time.

Wow, but… I am doing my thesis right now and the deadline is next month. I still do not have enough time of making that project. :(

Having read some Q&A, there is still a chance that one’s proposal won’t get picked upon applying.

It could be more beneficial if they have have provided a list of important projects they are currently planning for–however are open to proposals for other projects and ideas.
