Nokia E63 to be priced at Php11,000

I’d say this is an unprecedented move to bring the Nokia E63 business phone to regular consumers. According to a source close to Nokia Philippines, the local price of the phone will be Php11,000.

I was surprised to hear this since the globally listed SRP is around $250 or just over Php12,500. The Php11,000 price of the Nokia E63 is less than half of the Nokia E71 when it first launched a couple months back.

And that’s just the SRP so you will probably see units being sold around Php10,000. Expect the phone to be available in stores before Christmas day.

    This phone is coming out at a price point lower than the non-QWERTY E51, and even the non-wifi, non-QWERTY 6120 Classic when it came out last year. Very nice!

    Good price. I just don’t like the build of this phone. Smartphones should look and feel expensive… I mean tough. :P

    wow! half the price of e71!

    i’m planning on buying an e71, but after seeing this post, i’m thinking of switching to e63… will it really come out before christmas?

    guys i need help, what do you think i should buy? an e71 or e63? does the contents of e63 box the same with e71? i really need help… =) thanks!

    @ian

    Well it depends on what you plan to use it for. If you were looking to use the phone for high speed web browsing then, stick with the E71 because of its HSPDA capabilities. The E63 can only connect up to 3g which is about 300 kbps compared to HSDPA which is about 2 mbps here in the Philippines. For me, I think that’s going to be the deal breaker.

    interesting. argh, makes me want to buy one if its really around 11,000!

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like the E63 has a 3.5mm jack as opposed to the E71’s 2.5mm jack?

    is 0% for 6 already included in that price? anyway, i’m tempted but the deal breaker for me here is HSDPA.

    Please do let everybody know when exactly this phone will hit the shelves, I tried looking for it last weekend, but apparently most if not all the store’s attendants gave me a blank stare before saying, it is still not available. This is a good all in one device and the great deal for me is it has a 3.5mm audio output, plus a qwerty keypad, 8gig expandable…This is much better than buying that MP3 I’m eyeing which is already @ 6k for just 4gig.

    Hey ALL, I was @ MOA yesterday and I went to all the stores there, unfortunately, there is no sign of E63 yet. The sales lady from Nokia said its probably going to be released January ‘09….I hope its available before my birthday, hehehe. Do send out an update if anybody acquired one locally. TIA.

    wow, when will this be launched? this should be the cheapest wi-fi-equipped, qwerty keypad phone ever! and it’s a nokia!! they ought to launch it before christmas, really. although i won’t mind a january 2009 launch if they keep to their promised price.
