Bumped into Art Samaniego of Manila Bulletin during the Nokia N82 Adventure II launch this afternoon and he casually mentioned that there’s a new Canon Lens Sale promo going on at Digital Zone. So I dropped by at dZone on the way to my next meeting.
True enough, the prices from previous lens sale was pulled down a bit more, plus a couple new models. Here’s the current line up.

The 85 1.2L is a specific function lens - it doesn’t focus very fast (not as fast as my 85 1.8, at least), and the 1.2 gives you very, very shallow DoF - but it’s a dream to use. It’s a lovely portait lens, and definitely a piece that a wedding photographer would love to have.
is there any for nikon? I am just an enthusiast and I have a nikon d80. It’s just a hobby so I have no plans of overspending for a lens that I wont be using. I like landscape and portrait photography

This is the problem with the Canon cameras. Lenses arent cheap and IS is not built-in with the camera body.
Go with Pentax cameras, cheap lenses, in-body IS, water/dust proof design. I highly recommend the pentax k100d or if the have the buck, k10d or the newer models k200d and k20d.
