Chitika adds channels, finally!

Chitika has introduced channels tracking, just like AdSense. This allows you to monitor ad performance from different positions and across sites. Really good if you implement it on multiple sites so you can check which ones are performing well over AdSense. This way, you could really optimize all ad combinations.

I am still skeptical on the turn-out of the clicks I get since only the ones from the US and Europe are considered legit. I already have over a month of CTR data from Chitika but they’re not audited yet so I can’t make any conclusions yet about its effectivity (read: profitability). Will post my observations here once the revenues are audited for the month of October.

From my regular readings from different blogs, Chitika can double (at the very least) one’s ad revenues, but that’s for western blogs (which 90% of the traffic are from the US/Europe). It would be a nice thing to know how much would the conversion be for Asian blogs.

My channel stats tells me most of my clicks (about 90%) come from the lower-end market blogs that I write. And checking my geo stats, only about 30-40% of that market is from the USA and Europe. I got only about 0.5% of the clicks from my higher-end (tech) blog.

I was quite optimistic at first, but am now thinking of removing Chitika altogether, given the dismal results from the indented market.

It’s too bad that they only gave us channel tracking recently (a couple of days ago)–otherwise, I would’ve been able to make a better traffic analysis earlier.

Will decide once I see audited results.

At any rate, I still do believe Chitika is best used for product-oriented sites/blogs.

I don’t have the audited stats yet so i can’t make any conclusions if the demographics fit.
