Canon’s EOS 350D hits sub-50k price

Was visiting Abensons here at WalterMart Pasong-Tamo for 3 days now to check out their 50% sale on appliances. The 34″ Sony Wega TVs got me drooling but at the discounted price tag of Php49,999, it was still pricey for me (anyone interested in my two-year old 29″ Kolin TV for 10k? hehehe).

I ended up getting a La Germania gas range to replace my 5 year-old super kalan at home (yes, it’s that old), so I could get some decent home-cooked meal around here.

Anyway, what took most of my time in the shop was the Canon Rebel XT (EOS 350D) which now retails just below fifty grand — Php49,995 (kit included).

Canon Digital SLR

I’ve made up my mind to get that one together with a nice high-zoom lens, just out of budget right now (I have some ongoing belt-tightening project). Surely, my Palawan (and hopefully, Davao) trip later this year will not be complete without it.

Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 Lens (Black) Available at Amazon.com: Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens (black), NB-2LH Lithium-Ion battery pack, CB-2LT battery charger, USB/video cables, with manuals and CD installer.

Di ko pa kaya cash. Especially kung samahan sya nung ng zoom lenses and filters. Magasto ito!

I suggest you stick to the kit lens for a few weeks to see what lens you’re supposed to get next. Mahirap yung mauuna gastos sa lens when you’re not yet sure what type of photography you really enjoy, or really excel in.
