Blogging from Gummersbach

Just arrived here at Gummersbach, a rural town off Cologne, Germany. That’s after more than 22 hours on air and and on the road. It’s a chilly 8 degrees outside, raining. Blogging will be sparse in the next two weeks. Left my mobile phone at home so email is the best way to contact me.

Until now, Abe, my moderator, is doing a nice job. Let´s wait what he will write about his students (us). The Theodor-Heuss-Akademie is a great institution. If you are a liberal, you might check it out.

Have great time there, Abe, even it’s cold and windy. I had my share of cold and foggy nights in Turkey last November 11-26, too. Wow, it’s zero visibility when we were travelling from Izmir to Cannakale in Turkey. We stayed overnight at Tekirdag Hotel to avoid accident. I went to Ephesus (Virgin Mary’s huse and the tomb of St. John).

Though, it’s cold at the outset of winter, still the best time to travel there. Enjoy your rendezvous!
