Flipboard: Social Network turned e-Magazine

This new app for the iPad is pretty interesting. Flipboard turns your social network into a mash-up digital magazine — a very interesting approach to content discovery.

Login with your Facebook and Twitter account and Flipboard crawls all links, images and content from your network and organizes it into a single deck you can flip and read.

You can also add a specific Twitter account of people you follow or select from a list of “Flip decks” to add to the mix and have yourself a personalized magazine.

You can even share the story to your FB wall or re-tweet a link and share to friends via email — directly from Flipboard.

Here’s the official “Meet Flipboard” walk through of Flipboard to better explain how the app works.

Their problem now though is that it’s hard to connect or login your FB/Twitter account because of the amount of usage/traffic the app is getting. It’s a pretty interesting way to read your network’s Twitter stream.

The magazine stuff isn’t really new but the innovation I guess is the integration of social networking. Plus, it’s on an iPad which makes the overall experience close to a real magazine…
