Microsoft Surface ad airs ahead of launch

Listen to article

The Windows 8 launch is just ten days away and Microsoft has already aired its first advertisement for its Surface tablet.

Called “The Surface Movement”, the colorful ad revolves around the clicking sound the Surface makes from its kickstand or when connected to its magnetic keyboard. Personally, I find the sound really satisfying. The rest feels like a sponsored trailer for the next ‘Step Up’ movie. Watch the video below and see for yourself.

The Surface ad is part of Microsoft’s billion dollar marketing campaign for Windows 8 which will be released on October 26. Judging from its marketing stance, Microsoft really wants to make a killing on the Surface and its upcoming OS.

I would love to have this but just bought a Samsung Tab recently. ICS is a little laggy but heard that they have plans to upgrade to Jelly Bean.

As for the Surface, the best thing to do is to read a lot of reviews, future updates, and wait. As the old adage says, “True love comes to those who wait”.lolz

I just wish if i buy a fully licensed photoshop or ms office on this tab i wouldnt need to repurchase again on my win8 desktop or vice versa, i really think microsoft is trying to lessen if not eliminate software piracy on their new OS.

photoshop and autocad won’t run on Windows RT. If you plan on installing desktop applications, wait for the Surface Pro.

Nice Microsoft Surface Tablet/Computer… A tablet with a Windows 8 OS… Meaning table na pwede installan ng AutoCAD, Photoshop, Corel Draw, at kung ano ano pang PC softwares and PC games… Kaya ba yan ng iOS and Android Tablets? Pano na ang irerelease daw na Tablet ng Nokia? Sobrang late na… For sure it will run in Microsoft OS.

i’d rather but an android tablet because it has all the features I need in a compact device. better user interface and thousands of apps and widgets.
if you already have a laptop and a desktop I advice you not buy this(especially if you main purpose is to use microsoft office)
*microsoft will be available for other OS next march 2013

I agree with you on some points, but i’d rather have the security, simplicity, and compatibility of the Windows ecosystem specially for “Working people” like me.

@Jason Hijo, wag basta padala sa emosyon ha? Merong Surface RT and Surface Pro. The latter would work like any desktop or laptop. :D

I loled so hard, it’s like comparing iOS apps to Mac/PC Software.

In my own opinion Microsoft Surface is what the 3rd category between smartphone and laptop, it’s not the iPad.
