Looks like Smart Comm. grabbed the exclusive rights to sell the Nokia N9 in the Philippines, according to @Jump_Center in a tweet to us a few minutes ago.
This message is from @Jump_Center:
@abeolandres The Nokia N9 is exclusive to Smart. The 16GB is FREE at All-in Plan 3500 & the 64GB is w/ P1,200 cash-out. Live demo in Jump.
There you go:
Nokia N9 16GB – Free at Smart All-In Plan 3500
Nokia N9 64GB – Free at Smart All-In Plan 3500 + Php1,200 cash-out
No idea on what the prepaid price would be but considering all other handsets that came free with All-In Plan 3500 like the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry Bold 9900, we can pretty much figure out what’s that going to be.
I bought mine yesterday in sm city annex bldg. I got the white 64GB for P27,700.
MeeGo was jointly developed by Nokia and Intel. Without a word, Nokia dumped MeeGo in favor of Windows Mobile, leaving Intel on its own to continue or junk MeeGo. Considering Intel’s next moves, it appears they will really give up on MeeGo in favor of Android that will soon be optimized for Atom. Sad way to go for what appears to be a good software. Great review, Abe. I will get one myself, just for the heck of it :-)
Actually, Intel will not be discarding it’s MeeGo line. Along with the authorization / partnership of Linux Foundation and their new partner, Samsung. MeeGo will be updated to Tizen. Check Tizen.org for more information.
blackberry? lol.
Anyway, maganda n9 kaso hindi siya kasing customizable gaya ng android. I like android kaso ang papanget ng itsura ng phones. N9 talaga pinakamaganda design para sakin. I don’t care much about games. I’ll surely buy this kung mas customizable siya. madali kasi ako magsawa sa ui. sana may mga themes din to.
crap from nokia again. These days is always Apple vs Samsung vs Blackberry. Focus na lang Nokia sa low to mid level handsets.
You don’t call something crap simply because of brand bias, and most particularly if you haven’t owned and used one, just because you can’t afford. And it’s not apple vs samsung vs blackberry. It’s Nokia vs the world, and they’re not retreating. How narrowminded can people be these days.
i like the design and OS, fresh looking pati interface, i hope they support this handset and put more updates in the future,
