The 10.1MP Canon EOS 40D announced

Listen to article

The new Canon 40D has just been announced and the specs look impressive.

Here are some of the highlights of Canon’s new digital camera:

Canon 40D

– 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor (3888 x 2592 pixels)
– 6.5 frames per second burst performance
– newly developed AF system
– 3.0” LCD with Live View mode (largest so far for this series)

My old Canon 350D pales in comparison. Here are some more detailed preview from DPReview. Weighs 1.6lbs without the batteries. Retails in the US for about $1,300 so it should be at least Php70k when it reaches the Philippines.

@Jaypee: Hehe, we have the same camera! I’m quite happy with it too. But of course, I’m also aspiring for an SLR. Who isn’t? :D

Wow, that’s awesome! I still dream of owning a SLR someday but I’m happy with my Canon Powershot S3 IS which I recently purchased. Btw, I also go to DPReview for camera reviews. :D
