Android Authority has revealed that Google is still developing ways to make Android’s Quick Share compatible with iPhones.
The news came through after the outlet cracked open the latest version of Google Play Services beta. Here, traces of the string confirming Quick Share compatibility for iPhones were revealed.
The update shows a screen appearing when attempts are made to transfer files from an Android device to an iPhone. The image shows the requirement to sign-in to share end-to-end encrypted files.
Unlike Android-to-Android transfers, sharing to iPhones will require the sender to be logged in. This suggests that iPhones may need to use a Google service, possibly through an app, for Quick Share to function.
Details remain unclear, and Google has yet to announce how the feature will work on iOS or when it will launch. However, its integration into the Play Services beta indicates that public rollout may be approaching.
