Google is expanding the creative tools in the Gemini app with the rollout of Lyria 3.

The feature is now available in beta and lets users generate short music tracks by simply describing an idea or uploading a photo or video.
With Lyria 3, users do not need to write their own lyrics. Gemini can automatically generate them based on the prompt while also allowing control over style, vocals, and tempo.
The model also produces more realistic and musically complex tracks compared to earlier versions.
The Gemini app generates 30-second songs with custom AI-created cover art.
Lyria 3 is also available for creators through YouTube’s Dream Track for Shorts. All generated audio includes SynthID watermarking to help identify AI-made content.
Music generation is rolling out now on desktop with mobile support coming soon for users aged 18 and above.
