The Honor 9 Lite launched a few months ago and can still be considered as a good option for those on a budget. If you’re thinking of getting this phone, let us give you 6 reasons why you should.
Table of Contents
Premium build
Premium builds are normally saved for more expensive devices but not in the case of the Honor 9 Lite. It has an aluminum frame and double-sided 2.5D glass with a mirror-like effect, so it not only looks good, it feels good as well. As for colors, it comes in Sapphire Blue and Glacier Gray.
Large display
For those who want to play games or watch videos, a big screen is a must. Luckily, the Honor 9 Lite has a 5.65-inch FullView display with Full HD+ resolution or equal to 428ppi. That’s a pretty good screen for its class. In addition, it has an 18:9 aspect ratio for thinner top and bottom bezels, and 2.5D curved glass.
Mid-range specs
Although the Honor 9 Lite is considered a budget device, it comes with very capable mid-range specs which includes the Kirin 659 octa-core processor clocked at 2.36GHz, Mali-T830 MP2 GPU, and 3GB RAM. With that configuration, the Honor 9 Lite can handle light to moderate tasks as well apps like PUBG Mobile on Medium and Balanced settings.
AnTuTu v7: 88,558
PCMark: 4,888 (Work 2.0), 6,233 (Work 1.0)
3DMark: 327 (Sling Shot Extreme), 361 (Vulkan)

AndroBench: 268.05 MB/s (Sequential Read), 123.6 MB/s (Sequential Write)
Quad Cameras
Just like the Huawei Nova 2i, the Honor 9 Lite has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 13MP main and 2MP secondary, both for the rear and front. The secondary sensors are there to provide bokeh effects. It also has Gender Beauty Mode, Portrait Mode 2.0, and AR effects. When it comes to quality, the photos have good detail under bright lighting.
Face Unlock & Fingerprint scanner
When it comes to security, the Honor 9 Lite features two biometric features – Face Unlock and Fingerprint Scanner. According to Honor, the 9 Lite features their fourth-generation fingerprint identification technology that unlocks the devices as fast as 0.25 seconds. And if you want the phone to unlock right away by just looking at it, just activate Face Unlock.
Sub-Php10K price tag
There are plenty of new smartphones in the market right now with features similar to what we’ve mentioned above, but most of them are priced at Php15K and above.
