Alcatel announces the OneTouch Hero 2+ with Cyanogen OS

Operating system developer Cyanogen seeks to bring its forked Android experience around the world, and it has partnered with Alcatel to deliver handsets baked with their OS. The first product: the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+, a six-inch phablet with an octa-core CPU onboard.

The Hero 2+ isn’t really an upgrade from the Hero 2, but it will bring Cyanogen OS 11, a forked version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat to more people. The Hero 2+ also comes with a built-in stylus for writing on the go.

The unlocked version of the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ will retail in the US for $299 or roughly Php13,200.
