Cherry Mobile’s other line of smartphone, Cubix, which is an affordable packaged handset, has its 3rd generation coming in soon as it gets listed on Lazada.
The Cherry Mobile Cubix 3, despite being the next generation of the line-up, seems to downgrade some of its features. From a full HD 1080p display, we’re now seeing an HD 720p panel, but still at 5.5-inches, a slower 1.3GHz octa-core processor vs the 1.7GHz of its predecessor, and a smaller 2700mAh battery from 3500mAh, well at least now it’s removable.
The only upgrade is the gain of 3 thousand pixels to have a 16-megapixel rear camera. The rest are pretty much the same like the Cubix 2 with the 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. While the chipset is yet undisclosed, we could have an MT6753 plus a Mali-T720 GPU, a popular choice among similarly priced devices.

Despite the cutoff in term of specifications, the price is still at Php4,999. Also, running on the device is still Android 5.1 Lollipop, and update to 6.0 is unlikely. The release date is TBA.
