Instagram Stories now supports media taken more than 24 Hours ago

Instagram recently rolled out an update to their mobile app allowing users to post media content taken more than 24 hours ago to their Instagram stories.

While Instagram always supported posting previously-taken pictures and videos to your Story, it had one limitation, the media content had to be taken less than 24 hours ago or else it won’t be part of the Story gallery. With the recent update, Instagram has removed this limitation and now all previously taken content are shown in your Story gallery. If the photo or video was taken more than 24 hours ago a sticker of the date it was taken will automatically be added. The sticker works like your normal date sticker so it can be edited, moved, resized, and even deleted.

For now, we were only able to check the Android version of the app, but we’ll be updating this post once we confirm if the update was also added to the iOS version. You can now head on to Instagram’s app page on Google’s Play Store to download the update.
