Listen to article

vivo has revised its update policy for the iQOO 12: it now has an additional one year of software support. This means it will now get up to four years of OS upgrades and five years of security patches.

A tweet from iQOO India says that this will ensure “Your device stays up-to-date and secure till 2028.”

This change levels the iQOO 12 with the new iQOO 13 in which vivo also promised the same number of OS updates and security patches.

The iQOO 12 originally launched in 2023 running Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 skin on top. By that time, it had only offered three years of OS upgrades and four years of security patches at launch.

There is a Pro variant of the iQOO 12 but vivo hasn’t mentioned any extended support for it as of writing.
