Vivo X9, X9 Plus now official w/ dual front cameras

After teasing us with its promotional image last time, Chinese manufacturer Vivo has now officially announced its X9 and X9 Plus smartphones that feature a dual front camera setup in addition to a Snapdragon CPU and up to 6GB RAM.

Its dual front camera setup, just like we initially thought, is indeed for creating bokeh shots or for shooting subjects with a great depth of field. What the secondary 8-megapixel shooter does is to get the separate distance of the background and blur it to make the subject pop out more.

The Vivo X9 is available for pre-order in China for CNY2,798 (64GB) and CNY2,998. Its bigger sibling, the X9 Plus, still has no price and availability. The company also mentions that the 128GB model is the international variant so we can expect it to be available outside China.
