Apple update makes it easier to unlock your iPhone with a mask on

The new iOS 13.5 beta 3 release makes it easier for users wearing a mask to unlock their iPhones.

Currently, iPhone users need to either tap the Face ID prompt or wait for the scan to fail before being able to type in their passcode. The new update removes this waiting process. Once the device detects that the user’s mouth is covered, the phone will automatically bring up a keyboard for users to input their passcode. If users aren’t wearing masks, however, Face ID will work normally.

Additionally, the update includes the first version of the exposure notification API for COVID-19 that Apple and Google have been collaborating on. Lastly, the iOS version 13.5 beta will also allow users to turn off the talking bubbles feature in Group FaceTime.
