As of March 5, 2023, there have been a total of 40,498,324 SIMs registered according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The DICT says that this total now amounts to 23.97% of all SIMs in the country, which is slated to be around 168,977,773.
DICT Undersecretary and Spokesperson Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo is reminding citizens that the registration deadline is still on April 26, 2023, which is roughly 50 days away.
The ongoing SIM registration is in accordance with Republic Act No. 11934 or the SIM Registration Act.
