GCash and Axie partner up for accessible crypto payment methods

GCash users can now opt for an easier, accessible direct-to-crypto top-up method when trading for Axie Infnity’s in-game currencies.

With the recent regulatory challenges faced by Binance along with the restrictive nature of cryptocurrency itself—Axie and GCash partnered up to help the Philippines in diversifying access for their users in the Philippine community.

As about 80% of Filipino internet users rely on GCash for financial services, Axie also added that their partnership with GCash will “provide Filipinos with an alternative that meets the local dynamics and user needs”.

After all, the Philippines has been ranked first in the world for interest in Web3 gaming over the past three years.

GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon also noted that “crypto gaming should be friendly, affordable, and enjoyable to all”.

We should also add that Axie’s AXS (Axie Infinity Shards) and SLP (Smooth Love Potion) cryptocurrencies are already available through GCash’s GCrypto feature.
