Grab silently rolls out Advance Booking feature

Grab has silently rolled out a new Advance Booking feature in its Beta phase.

The new feature lets users plan their rides in advance, booking a Grab from two hours to seven days prior. This feature should save users with scheduled plans or flights from waiting around too long.

The company claims that the feature guarantees that your driver should arrive on time. However, the user should still account for external issues like traffic to affect the driver.
If users have a change in plans, Grab will also allow cancellations up to an hour before your scheduled ride arrives. Drivers will also have up to fifteen (15) minutes to wait for you.

Presently, Grab’s Advance Booking is available for trips to the airport. Even if I live in Parañaque, it still costs me roughly Php600.

Readers should note that this booking is for up to three (3) passengers and up to three (3) pieces of luggage. In addition, your items should weigh 23 kilograms at max.

Overall, this feature offers a lot if you’re not riding alone, if you have luggage to bring, and if you’re catching a flight. Whether or not Grab opens up the possibility to expand this feature’s coverage has yet to be announced.

But as always, we’ll keep readers posted if and when Grab’s Advance Booking feature isn’t limited to trips to the airport.
