Instagram Dark Mode rolls out to Android and iOS

If you’re like me and you like using Dark Mode for everything, then this is exciting news: Instagram finally supports Dark Mode!

Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, tweeted out that Instagram’s Dark Mode feature is released for iOS13 and Android 10. Although we noticed that some of our Android devices on Android 9 Pie have already received Instagram’s Dark Mode.

There isn’t an actual option to toggle on and off within the app. Instagram instead notes if you have Dark Mode enabled in your OS, and then enables dark mode for the app.

Here’s how you enable Instagram Dark Mode within iOS 13 and Android 10:

  • For iOS 13, open the quick control, press the brightness setting, then dark mode should be at the lower left side of your screen.
  • For Android 10, go to Settings, Display, then Themes to enable dark mode.
