Netflix rolls out ‘screen lock’ button on Android app

Netflix now prevents smartphones from pausing the program you are streaming with its newest ‘screen lock’ button. The new feature, which was rolled out first on Netflix’s mobile app for Android devices, assures continuous playback of the movie or TV series the users are watching. It also keeps smartphones safe from accidental touches.

Upon playing a new episode or film on the platform, the ‘screen lock’ can be seen at the bottom part. Tapping the button removes the play, pause, and the timeline of the program you are streaming. To go back and see the control buttons again, just tap the lock icon twice. Do note that some Android system gestures may still work even if the feature is turned on.

The Netflix ‘screen lock’ is currently available on Android devices. Make sure to update the app on your device to fully enjoy the new feature. There are no words yet if the ‘screen lock’ will be available on the iOS version of the Netflix app.
