Listen to article

The popular social media app, TikTok, has launched a new pilot program called “TikTok Resumes.” TikTok is now testing a job application tool that allows its users to apply with video resumes to different companies directly.

The pilot program is designed to continue expanding and enhancing TikTok as new recruitment and job discovery channel. Currently, there are more than 30 companies signed up to accept resumes for the program, which will last until July 31.

Users will have to create a video resume and upload it to TikTok, and then send the video to recruiters using the app. TikTok has posted an instructional video on how to create a video resume. TikTok recommends that applicants don’t include personal contact information like their phone numbers and email addresses in the publicly-shared video.

TikTok has teamed up with numerous companies and is inviting job seekers to apply for entry-level to experienced positions to work with companies such as Chipotle, Target, WWE, and many more.

According to a study, there are more Gen Z users on TikTok than on Instagram. Over half of the app’s user base is under 24 years old, and this is the demographic that TikTok is targeting with TikTok resumes.

“Interested candidates are encouraged to creatively and authentically showcase their skill sets and experiences and use #TikTokResumes in their caption when publishing their video resume to TikTok,” the company said. The TikTok resumes pilot program is currently only available in the US.

You can access TikTok Resumes and watch videos through the app using the hashtag #TikTokResumes or visit the website at www.tiktokresumes.com.
