Xiaomi apparently has a deal with Qualcomm to launch the first smartphone with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
We can only infer that the first two devices powered by this are the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. This should be launched in October, hailed as the company’s newest top of the line mobile chipset.
According to an X post by a tech contributor, Xiaomi’s release should be followed by OnePlus and iQOO.
After Xiaomi’s launch, the OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13 should follow suit. But of course, the order of releases may be subject to change.
The OnePlus 12, iQOO 12, Xiaomi 14, and Xiaomi 14 Pro were the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 upon release in China.
We’ve yet to see if this is traditional, but the global releases for the Xiaomi 15, OnePlus 13, and iQOO 13 may trail the Chinese launch by a few weeks.
Readers should also keep in mind that the Xiaomi 14 Pro never got a global release. The same might occur with its successor some time later this year.
