Intel has announced their most powerful desktop processor yet – the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition with up to 10 cores.
The Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processor is aimed at gamers and enthusiasts. It sports 10 cores clocked at 3GHz and coupled with Intel’s Turbo Boost Max Technology 3 which help optimize single-threaded performance by identifying your processor’s fastest core and directing your most critical workloads to it.
Intel says that with the Extreme Edition processor, paired with high-end SSD’s and discrete graphics cards, users can experience vivid 4K gameplay as well as enjoy VR technology like Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. Film and photo editors can also take advantage of the performance and edit raw 4K footage.
All that power though comes at a not so light price tag of $1,723. Any takers?
