The launch of the first Google Nexus 7 back in 2012 has undoubtedly paved the way for cheaper Android tablets in the market. Toshiba is trying to replicate that same game plan, but it’s doing so in the Windows tablet section. Folks meet the Toshiba Encore 7, a Windows 8.1 tablet with a 7-inch display which would probably be retailed for under $150.

Toshiba Encore 7 specs:
7-inch TN display @ 1024×600 pixels, 170ppi
Intel Atom Z3735 1.33GHz quad-core processor
Intel HD Graphics
1GB RAM
Expandable 16GB internal memory
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS
Micro-HDMI out
Windows 8.1
Currently, details about the new Toshiba Encore 7 are few and far in between. During the announcement, there was no mention of its SRP and the exact date of when it’s going to be available in the market.
So where did we get its USD150 price tag? Simple, we just based in on the fact that it’s bigger brother, the 8-inch Encore 2 is being sold for USD199. So unless something goes totally wrong with the folks at Toshiba, we don’t see why this tablet will be priced any higher than $150.
