YouTube announced major updates during their Made on YouTube event that highlighted earning opportunities for Creators creating Shorts and Music which are used for long-form and short-form videos. It was announced during YouTube’s Made on event that the YouTube Partner Program which originally caters to Content Creators that made long-form videos in the standard horizontal format is now being expanded to other creators who are Shorts-focused. And of course, because music is not only essential to long-form video but it has also been a vital part of Short, YouTube created a new Creator Music inside the YouTube Studio that gives creators access to a growing catalog of music. However, YouTube now also uses its own detection system to help identify AI-generated content, even if creators do not manually tag them. If creators believe their videos were incorrectly labeled, they can update the disclosure settings through YouTube Studio. However, labels will remain for content created using YouTube’s own AI tools such as Veo and Dream Screen, or if the content includes C2PA metadata. According to YouTube, the new labels will not affect how videos are recommended to viewers or how creators earn money from their content. The Philippine National Police (PNP) has warned content creators against using police uniforms in online stunts or videos without authorization.
