PLDT WiMax, Ultera services suffer nationwide downtime

Are you having problems with your PLDT WiMax and Home Bro Ultera wireless broadband as of the late? We received reports on these services suffering from downtime in all parts of the country.

UPDATE: (March 5, 2015, 8:30am) PLDT Ultera and WiMax services are back to normal according to CSR.

These reports were confirmed to us by PLDT’s customer service department. They were advised of the problem at around 8am, but complaints have been flooding into their hotlines since yesterday. The problem affects all existing WiMax and Ultera subscribers nationwide. Here’s a screenshot for your reference:

PLDT’s customer service said that the nationwide downtime is caused by “system maintenance and update”. While there are no definite timetable for any quick fixes, they advise customers to monitor their connection in the next 24 to 48 hours.

More as we get it.

Nakakaloka talaga mga ISP sa Pilipinas, nakakahiya. Ang boss kong taga-US na expat dito, 3 ang provider (di ko na sila i-name dahil you guys would probably know) All 3 would beat each other on being the S*i*ttiest provider, lakas ng tawa ko. Im just wondering kung uma-attend ng international convention of telecoms providers ang mga yan, pinag-tatawanan kaya sila ng mga providers ng ibang countries?

Why would keep it secret? this is the internet, we are using other alias so you’re free to drop the names of the providers for everybodys sake? I can drop mention names like WiTribe, Sky, Globe, PLDT. BUt which 3 of them?

In other news, congratulations to Smart Communications for winning the Best Music App in 20th Global Mobile Awards. Also to TabangKo for their efforts in helping Typhoon Haian Victims http://www.globalmobileawards.com/winners-2015/

^Halatang PLDT/Smart employee. Don’t try to change the subject. PLDT’s service is one of the worst in the world. Nationwide downtime due to system maintenance? You’ve got to be kidding me!

Yes. Wagas ang nakaw load ng Smart. Kapal ng mukha. Naka default sa payag ang customer sa mga kung ano-anong load diminishing promo nila. Kahit ipatigil mo sa customer service nila, bale wala. Masasayang lang ang oras mo. Better switch to other network. Ang pagnanakaw ng Smart sa mga kawawang subscriber ay walang kupas. Parang si Binay

a lot of subscribers say that in actuality, at least for new subscribers (people who got ultera after a certain date) this is how the cap works

all ultera plans for new subscribers have a daily cap after which the speed goes down to 256 kbps or 32 KB/s. Here are the plans, the pre cap speed and the amount of the cap

    Plan 999 = 3mbps/0.3 gig
    plan 1599 = 5mbps/0.5 gig
    plan 1999 = 10mbps/1.0 gig

then i guess globe DSL would be better than this..

i have an internet bundle plan 1399 (internet + landline)

Speed is 3mbps and cap is 7GB/day

im using pldt ultera my plan is 1599 but im paying only 1299 because of transfer from canopy wimax to ultera, if not capped my internet speed goes as much as 7mbps
larger than maximum plan of 5mbps, ping, ranging from 16-64 stable ping is 32. maganda naman pero di siya tulad ng pldt homebro canopy ko na 1ping and fix 1.5mbps plan with no data limit and no disconnection . cguro sa 2 years kong subscriber mga 5-7 times lang ako nadc sa canopy hehehe

baka misallocation of bandwidth on a large scale such as your case ang nakakaaffect ng speeds ng iba. not saying that it’s your fault but this is a shortcoming from telecommunication companies if it were the case
