Smart Buddy Prepaid Micro-SIM for Php40

Listen to article

Aside from the micro-SIM only postpaid Plan 999 for Smart Bro, I also got access to a prepaid micro-SIM card for Smart Buddy.

I am told just today that these micro-SIM cards are now being distributed to select Smart dealers nationwide and should be available to the public by September or as early as next week.

The Smart Buddy micro-SIM will retail for Php40 in stores. It will work with the iPad WiFi+3G and any other mobile handset that requires a micro-SIM, including an open-line iPhone 4 (the SIM pack puts a disclaimer that the “Apple iPhone 4G is not available from Smart Communications Inc.”).

For details on availability and additional information on the prepaid micro-SIM, you can ask @smartcares on Twitter.

Hope this help :)

Well if you need a new one, I am not sure about it, but I only know you can avail one in Smart or Globe telecom center. But maybe you can search the net, some people here charge for Php150 for cutting a regular sim and making it into microsim. Maybe try searching the net and buying a regular sim and cut it by following some videos or website on the instruction how.

Hi, my mom bought an iPhone 4 in UAE and would like to ask the people here if I cut a normal SIM card and used it in the iPhone 4, would it still give me the usual things? Like let’s say, Globe blah blah, o.o and can we still write SMS or even call to other people? Please answer this noob-ish question, thanks!

Hello, i’m an Engineer from Cagayan de Oro, and I have just recently bought a Smart Bro Microsim card at P 40 with 30 min free, from the Smart Center in the nearby Lim Ket Kai mall. I hope it activates after I recharge my Ipad unit.

I went to sunshop earlier, yes they were selling 50 pesos broadband sim, how can you use the unlisurf50 from sun if you already cut the sim?

@islacom

APN: minternet

speedtest.net 500plus kbps and download speed, upload mga 300plus kbps

@denzy

Q: Sun Prepaid ba yung broadband sim mo? how much cost ng simcard only ? What is the APN Settings for the Sun Network? Have you tried download speed sa iPad mo? how was it? at what speed did it reach for your device?

Thanks in advance

in my experience, mas mabilis ang sun broadband sim, tried tattoo and smart, super bagal dito s area namin s bulacan..

Globe is really something else. The Globe Ad (June 12 Phil. Star)announced: “Drop by any Globe store and grab a Globe Tatoo Micro-Sim…If prepaid is preferred for online bliss, get Globe’s Micro-Sim for just P50 and start surfing for P5 for every 15 minutes.”

To this day, there isn’t one available.

And now Smart has beaten Globe to the punch.

One big boo to Globe and its proven track record of lousy service.

nice one, smart trying to steal the iphone 4 & ipad user that got their units from elsewhere,
maybe they provide a FREE unlock service for iPhone 4, then nobody will needs micro-sim from Globe anymore,
probably more & more phone coming with micro-sim in place of the standard sim card,

So by offering the micro-sim earlier than Globe to the public, does Smart hopes to cut in the former’s iPhone 4 sales by encouraging unlocked iPhone 4s? :P
