Sony sent in one of their newer entry-level HD camcorder () just in time for my planned road-trip this Holy Week. While I’m still testing it out on the road, check out the first few photos of Sony Handycam HDR-XR100 after the jump.
Quick specs: 1920×1080 HD video recording, 4MP still image capture, 2.7-inch touch panel, 10x Optical and 120x Digital Zoom.
Saw this at the shelves in Abensons it was selling for Php52,995.

i thought entry level should be cheap? ~_~ anyway im not into camcorders, but will look forward for something cheaper. the d-movie in my d90 is kinda sucky.

Why not take a look at the Sony Webbie? It’s priced as $199.
i was also thinking that the videocam would be similar to the sanyo xacti and flip mino
I’m wondering why Sony has removed the mic input in their entry level handycams. It would come handy for budding filmmakers on a tight budget.
i still prefer the canon hv30 model, cheaper but superior quality. i’m just wondering why this unit costs 70k here in manila while in other parts of the world its only 30k? tax perhaps?
And btw, you need a high specs pc to edit raw video of HD camcorders, at least quadcore with 4gb memory and 1gb video.
wow, FULL HD imaging is more complicated than I expect. I will consider buying one after I’m more familiar with my DSLR ~
