This Toshiba Regza AT830 is probably the largest Android tablet I’ve ever seen with a screen size of 13.3 inches diagonally. It is also powered by an NVidia Tegra 3 processor and Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The first tme we’ve heard about it was last April when Toshiba announced it under the name Excite 13.
Toshiba Regza Tablet AT830 specs:
13.3-inch LCD display @ 1600×900 pixels
NVidia Tegra 3 processor 1.4GHz quad-core
1GB RAM
64GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
5MP rear camera
2MP front-facing camera
micro-HDMI port
micro-USB port
Android 4.0 ICS
Its battery life is expected to last 13 hours with seven days of standby time. This massive tablet weighs 2.2 pounds at 0.4 inches.
Aside from the really huge display that requires two hands to carry, the LCD screen doesn’t look that good and bright. The viewing angle is decent but not really as wide as what we’d expect (it’s also possible all that ambient light has gotten in the way).
The touchscreen was responsive at all when I was trying it so it’s probable the device is an engineering unit.
The Regza AT830 isn’t one of those tablets we see you’d be carrying around to use outside. It’s more practical wjust at home or probably in the office.
Based on the previous release, the price of the tablet will be around $650 for the 32GB model and $750 for the 64GB.
