Google has announced that the Fitbit app will soon become the new Google Health app, a platform that combines health, fitness, sleep, and wellness data into one place. The update will start rolling out to users on May 19 through an automatic app update.

The Google Health app will keep many Fitbit features while adding new tools and a redesigned layout. The app will now have four main tabs: Today, Fitness, Sleep, and Health. Users can also customize dashboards to quickly view their favorite health information.
In the United States, users will also be able to upload medical records such as lab results, medications, and vital information. Google said users will still have control over their data and can choose what information to save or delete.

The app will also work with the new Google Health Coach powered by Gemini. It can provide workout suggestions, sleep insights, and summaries of health records.
Existing Fitbit users will not need to download a separate app, as their data will transfer automatically.
