Display

While both devices sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, the Mi 10 can run at 90Hz, with a faster 180Hz touch response rate. A thing to note is that the Mi 10 has a slightly lower vertical resolution of 2340p compared to the K30Pro’s 2400p vertical resolution.

Performance

Both devices sport the latest 5G capable flagship from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 865. As for memory configurations, the Redmi K30 Pro can be had with either 6GB of LPDDR4X paired with UFS 3.0 or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1. The Mi 10, on the other hand, can be had with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.0 with Write Turbo.

Cameras

Following the release of the Mi Note 10, the flagship Mi 10 will also come with a 108MP primary camera, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. The K30 Pro will come with a 64MP primary camera equipped with an OIS, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth. As for selfies, both phones have a 20MP front shooter, but the Redmi K30 Pro uses an elevating mechanism to house the camera, while the Mi 10 has a punch-hole located on the upper left corner of the display.

Connectivity & Other Features

Since both the K30 Pro and Mi 10 are using the same chipset, they both come with 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS. They both also have NFC and an IR Blaster, which are excellent additions. Where the Redmi K30 Pro shines in audio, with its inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack and Hi-Res Audio certification. The Mi 10, however, has dual Smart PA speakers, and should theoretically trump the K30 Pro in performance during long sessions thanks to its Super VC liquid cooling.

Battery

In terms of battery performance, the K30 Pro comes with a 4,700mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging support, while the Mi 10 comes with 4,780mAh battery with 30W fast-charging for both wired and wireless charging.

Price

Here are the prices of each device:

Redmi K30 Pro:

  • 6GB + 128GB: CNY 2,999 or around PHP 21,500
  • 8GB + 128GB: CNY 3,399 or around PHP 24,500
  • 8GB + 256GB: CNY 3,699 or around PHP 26,500

Xiaomi Mi 10:

  • 8GB + 128GB: CNY 3,999 or around PHP 29,000
  • 8GB + 256GB: CNY 4,299 or around PHP 31,000
  • 12GB + 256GB: CNY 4,699 or around PHP 34,000

Like last year’s K20 Pro vs Mi 9 matchup, the K30 Pro still comes at a lower price point. Comparing the models with the same memory config, the Mi 10 is around PHP 4,500 more expensive than the K30 Pro.

Is the extra PHP 4,500 worth it? The main difference between the two is the whopping 108MP primary camera on the Mi 10. If you’re really into photography, then the PHP 4,500 difference may be worth it to you. But if you’re just looking to get a powerful device that’ll serve you well for years to come, then the Redmi K30 Pro is a great contender. Just take note that the lowest variant only comes with LPDDR4X RAM instead of the much faster LPDDR5 RAM.
