Yesterday at the Canon Future Nation event, Canon unveiled seven (7) of its new digital cameras including the now confirmed 18MPEOS 7D dSLR.

This one’s an Ixus 200 IS, a 12-megapixel camera with partial touch display screen, a 24mm lens, 5x zoom and optical IS. It also records video at 720p resolution. The Ixus 200 IS retails for Php27,950.

The PowerShot SX120 IS is only 10-megapixel and has 10x optical zoom with IS (image stabilizer). The SX120 IS will have a suggested retail price of Php22,950.

The Canon PowerShot SX20 IS is also at 12-megapixel as well as a 20x wide-angle (28mm) zoom lens with IS and records 720p videos. Retail price is Php31,950.

Missing in the picture is the PowerShot G11 (Php33,950), PowerShot S90 (Php31,950), Ixus 120 IS (Php24,950), the 18-megapixel EOS 7D will retail for Php99,950 for the body (Php124,950 with the 18-135mm kit lens and Php144,950 for the 15-85mm kit lens).

just got 7d about 3 weeks ago and i have to say that the 18 megapixel sensor really gives you a lot of resolution. plus it has 19 af points. and it also gives the photographer a choice bet. different types of raw files like small, medium or large though i don’t know if other canon dslr are like this bec. i’ve got 400d before getting this and i’m somewhat overwhelmed by what 7d could offer me…

Sigh.. to think that i got my 6Mp point&shoot thingy for 33k years before. But that’s nice, prices are getting lower for these things and they have nicer features too.
