Google confirms Android 15 Beta 2 coming tomorrow

At Google I/O 2024, Google announced that Android 15 Beta 2 is coming tomorrow.

New beta versions of Android used to be a big highlight of Google’s event. But due to most of the event announcements centered on Gemini and AI, the release was moved a day later.

For the mobile software front, we were treated to Gemini app updates and a look into the future of Gemini Nano. This included what on-device capabilities it will soon power.

There have been no details yet on what the new Beta will feature. However, it is still expected to be geared towards developers. If readers have interests far from that of an app developer or advanced user, it’s best to wait for the stable builds coming later this year.

Google had plenty of news to share today, leading to their decision to split them over two days. Once again, I/O is at a stage where it needs to be a multi-day, in-person event. With what was shared today, the conference is spilling into a third day with online sessions releasing on Thursday.
