Although Microsoft remains mum about the exact date of the consumer release of Windows 10, it’s certain that it’ll be released in the summer season. In the meantime, the software giant revealed the system requirements needed to run their upcoming operating system.
Without going through each of the components required to run Win10, basically if your system was able to run Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, then you should be able to upgrade to the new OS. Now for those of you who want the whole rundown, here’s the minimum system requirement for Windows 10:
The consumer version of Windows 10 can be installed on devices with 8-inch display and up, anything smaller than that will run on Windows Mobile instead.
Speaking of which, Microsoft stated that devices with at least 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage will be able to run their new mobile operating system. The company adds that the device should have at least WVGA (800 x 480) screen resolution, regardless of the screen size but not bigger than 8-inch.

Note, these are MINIMUM system requirements… not RECOMMENDED system requirements. There’s a huge difference.
Good point. The minimum requirements ain’t too steep for any current PC build you can buy from the store today. I wonder how it will fare with a smart phones?
The 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of storage is actually a requirement for Windows Phones (actually referred as mobile by Microsoft) so don’t get your hopes up if you’re thinking that Windows 10 will run on a PC made from the last decade.
Here’s the image that says that the 512MB RAM and 4GB storage is for Windows Phones:

Question is yung mga proc nuyo na 1ghz ay may pae, nx, at sse2 support ba? Pag di niya nadetect yung tatlo di rin yan mag iinstall. Alam ko di lahat ng mga proc 8 to 10 years ago may ganyan lahat.
“…but not bigger than 8-inch”
Typo error?
I think he was referring to the Windows Mobile OS (denoted by the “speaking of which” paragraph intro). :)
With this bare minimum requirements, Windows 10 could potentially replace Windows XP on old computer machines.
Now there’s hope for old computers.
By summer, they probably meant summer in temperate regions like USA and Europe (around July and August),
and not tropical summer like here in the Philippines (April and May).
Impressive, ang ibig sabihin ay tatakbo pa rin ito kahit sa mga 10 year old computers.
More like 8 years ago.
