Apple to cease repairs on reported missing iPhones

Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will now be notified should an iPhone be reported missing in the GSMA Device Registry when users bring it in for servicing.

According to an internal memo obtained by MacRumor, if an Apple technician is alerted in their internal MobileGenius or GSX systems that the device has been reported missing, they are instructed to decline repairs. This new policy will assist in reducing the number of iPhones in Apple service centers.
