Globe has partnered with Grab to improve its mobile network by collecting real-world data from daily trips across Metro Manila. This allowed Globe to check signal strength across different roads, traffic levels, and times of day. The data helped Globe find areas with poor coverage, including busy roads and places that were not tested before. With these insights, Globe plans to improve its services for both customers and drivers. Eric Tanbauco, Vice President at Globe, said the partnership helps the company see real network performance and use the data to improve services. This effort supports Globe’s goal of providing reliable connectivity for daily digital needs and helping build a more inclusive digital economy. Globe has officially launched its VoLTE (Voice over LTE) roaming capabilities. This rollout follows successful technical tests conducted back in 2023, where Globe partnered with Airtel of India to prepare for the global shift from legacy 2G and 3G networks to more efficient 4G and 5G systems.
