“Smart All-In Plans” offers flexible postpaid plans

Listen to article

Smart has just announced a revamped offering for all postpaid plans with a more flexible Smart All-In Plans.

The All-In Plans allow subscribers to pick a Postpaid Plan, choose a corresponding handset that comes free with it, and select Unli Services that fits into the consumable plan.

The unlimited services include UnliTalk (Php500), UnliTxt (Php350), UnliSurf (Php1,000) — all of which can be deducted from your consumable plan.

Here’ the full line-up of Unli Services that you can choose from:

For example: You can take Plan 2500 and get the HTC Sensation for free. You now have Php2,500 of consumables. You now have an option to get UnliSurf for Php1,000, UnliTalk for Php500 and UnliTxt for Php350.

That gives you:

Php2,500 – Php1,850 (Php1,000 + Php500 + Php350) = Php650

The Php650 is your remaining consumable plan which can be used on other services (calls and text to other networks).

Lastly, Smart All-In Plans also allows you to change your Unli Services each month. All you need to do is send a text to 7577 to activate any of the Unli Services for the month.

This new postpaid offering is obviously a stab at Globe My SuperPlan but with a few differences:

  • Smart All-In Plans makes Unli Services inclusive of the consumable; Globe My Super Plan puts add-on services on top of consumable.
  • Globe My Super Plan offers wider selection of add-on services.
  • Globe My Super Plan offers additional free bucket services depending on the consumable plan (up to 9 free add-ons on Plan 3799).

All Smart All-In Plans come with a 24-month lock-in period. Handsets that come with the plans include the Nokia E7, Sony-Ericsson Xperia Arc and the BlackBerry Bold 9780.

Correct, Globe has the worst customer service.. i remember when i encountered a problem with my iPhone 3GS and they insisted they wont replace it even under replacement warranty. defect was obviously seen but still ignored my concern.. So i jailbreak my iPhone immediately and switch to SMART…really a traumatic experience with Globe.

At face value Globe seems to offer more options and more flexible customizable plans. But they have the WORST customer service!!! I was with Globe for 8 years, ok naman dati but when I tried to customize my plan their customer service couldn’t keep up – I knew their product more than they did and it took them 2 freaking months to change my plan to what I wanted. They over charged me as well. So to hell with Globe, I switched to Smart. I never knew having a postpaid plan could be that pain free, absolutely no problems with billing! Those 8 years with globe was an absolute waste, kung Smart na ko nakailang free phones na kaya ako during those 8 years!

is it just me or a lot of people doesn’t have the idea that Globe has an ALL-UNLI plan that requires NO base plan?

the new Smart ALL-IN plan, consumable nga when it comes to unlimited services pero you still need a base plan to consume.. ????? clearly, it needs a base plan! without that base plan, where would you get the amount to consume for registering your unlimited services?

what’s good about Smart’s All-In plan is that you can fully maximize your consumable amount.. :) it’s very flexible that you don’t need to pay on-top of your bill.. but to say that you don’t need a base plan to get these unlimited services? that’s fallacy!

if you want a plan that doesn’t have a base plan, then Globe’s ALL-UNLI plan is for you! it really doesn’t need a base plan.. you just what unlimited services you want and that’s what you pay for each month! :) and you can change the unlimited services you want each month.. so what you pay for each month is only what you wanted! :) walang labis, walang kulang.. hehe..

unlitext
– P349 Globe
– P350 Smart

unlitext to ALL networks
– P599 Globe
– P350 Smart BUT only 2500 text messages

unlisurf
– P999 Globe
– P1000 Smart

unli blackberry
– P599 Globe
– P1200 Smart :P

unli call landline
– Globe meron
– SMART WALA!!!

AND Globe has no base plan if you get the ALL-UNLI Plan.. :)

Actually, if you read the fine print there is a minimum for ALL UNLI PLAN.

“If you’re on the All-Unli Plan, you need a minimum PhP 349 worth of unli add-ons – either My Super TXT or (2) My Super ONE subscriptions.”

So if you only require (1) My Super ONE subscription worth Php 175. Then you’ll have to pay for another Php 175 even if you don’t need it. So your claim that “what you pay for each month is only what you wanted! :) walang labis, walang kulang” is also a fallacy. :)

BO
BoRiS · 15 years ago

Smart is comparing it’s new all-in sa Globe na sa kanila daw walang base plan! well if you get the ALL-UNLI plan of Globe, YOU DON’T NEED a base plan.. you can get a plan for as low as P349! that’s what I got for my younger brother.. An all-unli plan and registered him for unli text to Globe/TM for only P349/month.. it’s even lower than what Smart has! you can’t get the P350 unli text of Smart All-IN at that price! you need to get the consumable plan P500 first and then register to unli text..

GLobe’s ALL-UNLI plan is still FAR better than smart’s all-in plans.. :P

eto yung wala sa Smart All-in plan
– unli text to ALL networks
– unli call to landline
– unli blackberry service for only P599! sa smart P1200 yan! :P

Globe’s ALL-UNLI plan is faaaaaaaar better still.. :)

I inquired at the Smart Center at Festival Mall branch and they said that the UnliSurf plan is only “unlimited” for browsing (i.e. downloading of files/etc. is P0.15/kb). Is this true?

If you dont really have too many smart contacts you can get the Php350 with 2500 consumable text to all networks. That’s about P0.14 cents/sms or 83 texts per day. That’s good enough for me.

Smart and sun both offer retention plan for their subscribers. 5months before the expiration of your plan, you can have your new handset of your new plan. globe my rewards on the other hand is points base. earn points and claim your reward. sadly, the points come with expiration dates. points earned last year can only be used until september 30, 2011 and points earned this year can only be used until march 30, 2012. Sounds like a scam to me.

Globe postpaid service is the worst. after the expiration of your 24-month contract and you think you can apply for another free phone, its not going to happen. Globe will tell you that you are under the “my rewards” program. the handsets offered in their promos are for new line subscription. the only way you can avail of their new handsets is to end your current subscription and apply for a new one and you wont be able to retain your number.

Soul Annihilator · 15 years ago

Di ko sure kung paanong nangyari sa rewards mo pero yung sa papa ko na-retain nya yung no. nya with a new phone. Ang nakuha nya Nokia nya Nokia C5 for just plan P599. Yun lang may lock-in period uli.

JA
Jack · 15 years ago

True. Sobrang walang kuwenta ng retention program ng Globe.

Di nga dapat “retention” program ang itawag kasi yang “loyalty” rewards nila, di mo naman mapapakinabangan.

BO
BoRiS · 15 years ago

well that’s plain and simple, Globe has NO retention program like Smart and Sun.. they only have rewards.. I know, it sucks! their system generates what kind of reward you will get and most of the time, it’s useless! haha.. well, there are lucky people who gets awesome rewards.. like one time, I got a bill rebate worth P20,000 for 2 years.. :D and my plan then was only P800/month.. they gave me a bill rebate of about P833.33/month for 2 years.. not bad aye? :)

so you can’t really DEMAND for a new phone (same models offered to new subscriptions) by the end of your contract like what Smart and Sun has because bottom line is, Globe has NO retention program.. only rewards! :) if you like new phones every 2 years, then go get a Smart plan because they have retention programs that Globe doesn’t! :) you can’t demand for something that isn’t there..

UL
ultimatewarrior · 15 years ago

@borris, if your plan is only 800 and you are receiving 833 per month rebate, does that mean you are being paid by globe 33pesos per month for staying on their line? It just sounds too good to be true.

i just applied for a globe postpaid plan 999 with free add ons, can someone please explain to me how this works, since its my first time applying for one, lets say i pay 999 a month are those add ons free and do i get like a thousand worth of load? please help me

Reply

BoRiS · 15 years ago

did you apply for the my super surf plan 999? well i have that as well.. this is what you have:

– the add-on that you can use
– unlimited surfing

that’s it! :) the 999 is not an amount you can consume.. it’s what you pay to get unlimited surfing each month! ^_^

like sa akin.. the add-on that i got is the free 200 free text to Globe/TM and 10 mins worth of free calls.. yan lang ang magagamit ko for calling and texting na free.. if consumed, it will be on top of my bill.. the 999 will not be used for texting or calling.. it is already registered for your surfing.. :)

AR
Arvee · 15 years ago

This is better than Globe’s current plan offers. Talagang ginagawang consumable yung monthly allowance mo.

But Globe currently offers a “somewhat” similar offer din. Sa plans nila, Nexus S is offered free for 2,499 monthly. If you apply for the Data plan, you still get it free for 2,499 but your consumable credits drops down to 1,000. So mas okay padin yung sa Smart.

Pero I’m still haunted by stories regarding sa subscription ng plan sa Smart. And almost all of my contacts are from Globe so I’ll just be waiting for the time na gagayahin ng Globe to. :)

Smart’s new All-In Plans are waaaaaaay better than Globe’s Add On plans.

Globe should copy this scheme from Smart and let subscribers use the consumable amount for the add on services.

Smart’s Retention program is a million times better than Globe as well.

BE
Benchmark · 15 years ago

IMO, Smart did what Globe has been doing before. Smart been strong in prepaid subscribers (kaya nga marami silang subsribers eh) yet they don’t do something good sa mga plan subscribers nila. Since nakita nila na Globe is been doing well sa Plan subscribers (and IMO Globe is strong in Plan subscribers even before, kahit na may SUN pa), dyan lang nila pinakealaman yung mga Plan subscribers nila.

Over-all good thing Smart done something good sa mga new Plan subscribers nila, people has a choice…and dapat talaga SUN will be left alone para may mga choice yung mga consumers…

Hinde yung “If you can’t beat them, BUY them.”

hmmm well now, its like “If you can’t beat and buy them, COPY them!” hehehehe :-D

“Smart All-In Plans makes Unli Services inclusive of the consumable; Globe My Super Plan puts add-on services on top of consumable.”

Globe has All-Unli Plans which doesn’t require a consumable amount on top of the unli service/add-on, as long as the value of the unli add-on is greater than 349PhP. If you check their Super Plan Builder in their site, there’s an option in step one to skip the consumable amount and go directly to the add-ons by clicking the All Unli Plan. It is quite inconspicuous because it was placed on the far right of the choices (right after the plan 3799).

Reply

Abe Olandres Editor-in-chief · 15 years ago

@xx – saw that earlier but did not include it because it’s not part of “consumable” plans.

AR
Arvee · 15 years ago

That is for “Line only” subscriptions.

All handsets will still require a minimum Plan for you to get it for free. For example, the Google Nexus S is free for Plan 2499 sa Globe. So you already have to pay 2,499 monthly for your consumable. If you want to add a unli service, it gets topped-up on your MSF. From the previous example, for Nexus S + Unlimited texts to Globe = 2,848 monthly with 2,499 consumable credits.

Sa Smart, instead of topping-up your MSF para sa unli add-on, it will be deducted to your monthly consumable instead. You will still pay 2,500 monthly for the HTC Sensation. Pero mababawasan yung consumable mo based sa unli plan na kukunin mo. So based on the post, Sensation + Unlimited texts to Smart = 2,500 monthly with 2,200 consumable credits.

XX
xx · 15 years ago

I see sir Yuga.

Some (like JustAThought who posted before me) might misunderstood the comparison but all is well.

XX
xx · 15 years ago

There are still free phones for the All Unli Plan but it’s not quite as enticing as the one being offered by Smart for their fixed rate consumable plans. BUT you also have the option from Globe to get the fixed rate consumable plans with additional unli add-ons or the mysupersurf plans with add-ons with a nice choice of handsets.

JU
JustAThought · 15 years ago

what a like is that it’s not on top of the MSF, which i think globe should also do.

Not much of a good offer, IMO. They didn’t even offer a combo of call and text unlimited. I’m also shocked that they didn’t even consider lowering their BlackBerry unlimited data service, considerimg Globe already offers it for Php599/30days.

Gobe is still better since they have more options for their customers like having the unlimited text and calls in one plan at just P599 as well as having the option to have unlimited text even with other telcos.
