Google Workspace apps such as Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Keep will now be getting a boost to take advantage of larger screens found on Android tablets. Check down below for all the new software updates on Google’s Workspace apps coming to Android tablets.
The first update comes in the form of multitasking across two separate windows by now having the ability to drag and drop text or images from Google’s apps such as Chrome, Docs, or Sheets.
This new feature also works in Google Drive when uploading files or links to Drive. If you “keep” your notes using the Google Keep app, you can now drag images saved from your notes into other apps such as Gmail.
The next feature Google introduced to Android tablets is the ability to open separate windows of the Google Drive app simultaneously side-by-side. This helps you to view files in a separate window without losing the current view of all your files.
To do this, you simply tap the three-dot menu on any file on your Google Drive and select “Open in new window”.
Lastly, Google has now finally introduced familiar keyboard shortcuts such as select, cut, copy, paste, undo and redo.
The new features will be rolling out in the coming weeks with Google announcing that it plans to add even more features for Android tablets down the line.
