Samsung Electronics Phils. has officially launched the Galaxy S3 in the Philippines last night. This was the chance for Samsung to finally reveal the local pricing of the handset — Php32,990 (16GB).
Samsung is also giving the two telcos (Globe and Smart) around one week to sell the Galaxy S3 with their postpaid plans before the handsets will be released in store shelves unlocked.
That means you’ll have to wait until June 9 before you can go and get it in stores for Php32,990. Otherwise, you’ll have no choice but to it get from either Smart and Globe.

The SRP of the Galaxy S3 directly competes with the HTC One X so it should be interesting to see how the sales of these two units fare. We’ve seen the S2 trump the HTC Sensation before and we’re predicting the S3 will make a repeat performance this year.
I recently applied for a plan at globe and they said the handset is still on pre-order? What the heck is happening here? I thought the device is already released about 3 weeks ago??

Just got my unit last June 11 from Samsung, Mall of Asia and I must say that I’ve been enjoying it a lot lately meanwhile my brother who had his birthday on the same day got the HTC one X instead.
well Its better to buy your S3 in the middleast, for whatever reasons, S3 prices are cheaper, i just bought mine for only 24k php if i will convert it from dirhams to php

hi guys got my galaxy s3 already here in qatar for about 2 weeks now. my previous phone was samsung wave(1st one), and i was amazed with the performance i saw the performance of htc one x and the design. Some people say its cheap looking but in person i dont think it is and once you have a grab of it it feels really solid no cracking sound unlike the samsung wave steel back cover, Battery life it last for about 1 1/2 days with heavy use since at work i have wifi it is the only chance to download unlimited music and movies and movies, anyway for those who want to purchase this device you will not regret. Cheers

The htc one x cost about 29,000. I thought the 32GB cost 32,990 and the 16 will be same as the price of the one x (more or less) I think the price for the 16 GB is too much. But I will still buy this device.
i was thinking if i should upgrade from my s2 to this phone but when i looked on the dimensions, this phone slightly bigger and i want a phone that is more pocketable but has the same goodies as this phone. im now considering the sony nxt phones due to their size but the lack of card slot and the os is making me think back.
I went to official launching for S3 in Somerset, SIngapore. Ang haba ng pila.. first 1000 will get freebies like smart cover, stand and etc.. worth SGD240. I went late so I didnt get it. Sayang… I am using it now and so far am happy! sobrang bilis at sobrang ganda ng phone na to… :) I prefer pebble blue pero di pa sya available kasi may issue daw ang back cover ng pebble blue so its gonna be delayed for 2 weeks.. arrgg.. but am still happy with the white kasi kamatch nya ang iPad 3 ko. First time ko mag android, ang ganda pala! lol!

I guess the SIII would have the same lower price when the unlocked units arrive at the local shops.
The only time the price of this phone would drop to an official 29990 is when the Note 2 comes out taking the 32990 spot. IMO
Waiting a couple of months for this mobile’s price to drop will be worth the wait…

sa mga nakasubok na ng demo unit, how’s the multitasking doing? Katulad din ba ng htc one x na aggressive pagdating sa multitasking? Wait mode muna sa review nito bago bumili.
nabasa ko before, wala daw multitasking ang One X. as in kino-close daw yung mga app instead of keeping it running or freeze it on the background. ewan ko lang kung totoo.
Not necessarily na walang support full multitasking but feature daw yan ng htc sense – closing dormant apps para makasave ng battery.
sayang yung HTC One X… Bakit kasi di nila nilagyan ng microSD slot……..
Believe I’ll wait awhile to purchse unit until price drops. Too pricey for me right now. In a month or two price may drop 4-5000p. I hope.

I’m wondering how much pa kaya ung 32GB and 64GB versions. But still, I’d get this over the One X since SGS III has a microSD card slot and removable battery = almost unbrickable.

Saka anong mas mura sinasabi mo? You mean mura ang GS3 tapos mas mura pa ang One X? Alam mo ba kung kelan ginagamit ang “mas”? At ang P32,990 sa 16GB ba ay mura pa? Saka One X lang ang maganda, hindi maganda yung GS3.
If your wondering the SRP of the HTC One X and the GS3 are currently the same pero sa ibang mga shops the One X is significantly cheaper not very because the specs of the GS3 is better but because na una ung One X and they need to ba able to sell more. Another thing whats your basis in saying na the One X is better than the S3. Design wise yes the Htc is better but I would rather have the best performing phone that look ok rather than a phone that looks better but overall isnt very good.

Truth is based sa facts ang points nya unlike urs. First off, his mura comment is bases on the standard practice that older products are offered at a cheaper price so it will be able to compete even if better spec’d units arrive.
And he used “mas” in a correct manner. It is used when comparing two things. If u have better way to rephrase it pls sugest coz i cant think of none in tagalog.
He’s also correct with the maganda comment because he is referring to beauty within (pun intented) which is the more important aspect thay looks anyway. E.g. Smart stay, expandable memory, replaceable battery, and overall qualitybased on reviews from top mobile sites like gsmarena.

pano niyo po nasabi sir na best performing phone ang S3? kung tignan ko na lang sa hardware specs 1.5GHZ(one X) over 1.4GHZ (S3), mejo lamang na si one x. isa pa.. yes quad core sila pareho pero since naka A9 cortex tegra chip si one x, bukod sa 4 cores ang processors niya meron pa siyang companion core which you may say na lima ang processor na ginagamit ni one X para mag produce ng high quality output ng mga Tegra HD and process ang mga applications. pati yung camera ng one x ay may sariling processor din. So all in all parang 6 processors ang nasa loob ni one x. I don’t think having expandable memory makes it the best performing phone. and please yung touchwiz 4.0 doesn’t stand in par sa htc sense 4.0
