Meta AI launched, coming to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp

Meta AI has been launched and is coming to Meta’s social media platforms in Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and even Messenger.

Announced late last year , Meta AI is powered by their most recent large language model (LLM), the Meta Llama 3. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also claims that this is currently the most sophisticated free AI assistant available.

The company has positioned this to contend with established AI services like Gemini and ChatGPT. However, Meta’s take differs from both due to collaborations with Microsoft and Google by integrating their search engine capabilities.

Speaking of integration, Meta’s design language for their AI model allows seamless compatibility for their social media platforms’ search features. This was developed with the intent to make AI accessible for users to make prompts within their preferred app interface.

This AI-powered assistant has been thoroughly engineered to do various tasks. This is inclusive of responding to user-given prompts, image and animation generation, etc.

Other potential uses for the AI-powered assistant consist of vacation planning, takeout suggestions, or even asking for decorating ideas.

Additionally, Meta AI is not limited to Meta’s suite of social media platforms. It has a dedicated website that users can visit at meta.ai.

Users can converse with the assistant for many purposes like academic assistance or writing support. Conversations can also be logged for future references.

As of now, Meta AI is rolling out in English over various countries. This includes the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

We have yet to get an update on when the Philippines and neighboring Asian countries will have access to Meta’s new feature. But as usual, we’ll keep readers posted for further developments in this update from Meta and their social media platforms.
