Facebook adds paid online events feature for Pages

Listen to article

Facebook has recently added online events feature for Pages to support small and medium businesses.

Through the new feature, entrepreneurs may set a price, create and host an online event, promote it, and collect payment on Facebook. Admins of the page can also go live and reach a wider audience. Currently, Facebook is testing online paid events with Messenger Rooms to make it more interactive. Page owners should add a bank account and link it on Facebook so they can be reviewed for approval. Once they get approved, they may start hosting online pad events and receive their payouts through the connected bank account.

The Page should also pass Facebook’s Monetization Standards, Paid Online Events Terms and Conditions, Apple’s App Store Guidelines for In-App Purchases, and Google Play’s Monetization and Ads Policy.

Facebook waives fees from paid online events for at least the next year to help them recover during the pandemic. For transactions via Google Play and countries with Facebook Pay, small businesses can keep 100% of the revenue generated from paid online events. Meanwhile, businesses may get 70% of their hard-earned revenue from transactions made through Apple App Store.

The Paid Online Event feature is currently available in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States.
